If you’re “on call” but don’t need a formal work setup, working from the beach takes on a whole new meaning at the Seabrook Island Beach Club! This private, oceanfront club boasts two saltwater pools and a sandy beach surrounded by sun loungers and shaded cabanas, a casual bar & grill for snacks and beverages, and the Pelican’s Nest, an oceanfront open-air bar and restaurant where you can pair your work with perfectly prepared seafood and chilled chardonnay. Traveling with kids? The kid’s activities at the Beach Club will keep the kids happily entertained as you tackle your tasks.

4. Lake House & Library

The Seabrook Island Lake House is known for its state-of-the-art fitness and training facilities, but within this sprawling Lowcountry clubhouse lies a lesser-known hidden gem, the Seabrook Island Library. The library works on an honor system (your gently used books are appreciated!) and is well-stocked with books, magazines, puzzles, and DVDs with a comfy lounge area to relax. If you prefer the outdoor office concept, find a spot to work on the verandah or set up on the poolside patio while the kids play – shaded tables and sun loungers are your work options!

If you’re keen to tick off your task list with the best breakfast on the island, get to The Station Deli early to snag a high-top table in the storefront or out on the pet-friendly patio! Situated at the entrance to Freshfields Village, and on the bike path from Seabrook Island for an early morning pedal, The Station Deli also offers awesome grab-and-go options if you’d prefer to pedal back to your quiet home office with a view!

8. Java Java

Java Java is the local hub of Freshfields Village – an independently owned coffee shop serving breakfast, lunch, and award-winning King Bean coffees from Charleston! There’s limited seating indoors and a sunny, spacious patio to balance work with leisure. While it’s not conducive to quiet client calls, it’s an excellent option for a few hours of remote work outside away from home.  

10. Post & Computer Center

Known locally as “The Freshfields Post Office”, the Post & Computer Center at Freshfields Village offers all the services of a US Post Office including, full-service packaging and shipping by FedEx and UPS, printing services, sales of computers and electronic accessories, and IT services and computer support for both PC and MAC. For technical support, call or email their computer guys – they’ll even come to your Seabrook Island vacation home if needed!
