The Seabrook Island Sand Scraping and Seawall Repair Project aims to enhance coastal protection and prevent erosion, strengthening the shoreline and safeguarding properties from storm damage and rising sea levels. These improvements will also enhance the aesthetic and accessibility of beach areas, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience while preserving the island’s natural beauty and ecological integrity for years to come. October 1 - December 31, 2024
- Location: North Beach, Boardwalks 1 through 7.
- Impacts: Noise and light disturbances may occur while staying in nearby properties. Each property affected has a corresponding notice in the listing description.
- Affected Boardwalk Beach Accesses: Boardwalk 1 will not allow parking or handicap access throughout the project. Guests must use Boardwalk 2 for parking and walk to Boardwalk 1. Boardwalk 4 will be usable (with caution) after anticipated completion by December 1, 2024.
- Holidays: No work is scheduled for Thanksgiving (Nov 28 - Dec 1) or December 24 & 25.
January 1 - April 30, 2025
- Location: From Beach Club Villas to Pelican's Nest.
- Impacts: Continued noise and light disturbances may occur while staying in nearby properties. Each property affected has a corresponding notice in the listing description.
- Affected Area: Further seawall repairs will take place between Beach Club Villas and Pelican’s Nest. The staging area between Dolphin Point and Beach Club Villas, including the Seabrook Island Beach Club, will also be affected after the work from October to December has been completed.
- Holidays: No work is scheduled for New Year’s Day (Jan 1).
Temporary Beach Rules in Effect Throughout This Project:
Pets must be on-leash (24/7) between the Boardwalk #1 and the Beach Club through November 22nd, 11:59PM.
Beach fires are prohibited between the Beach Club and Captain Sams Inlet.
Beach fires are prohibited between 300 yards NW of Boardwalk #9 and Privateer Creek.
Atlantic Ocean Beach access will be closed from sunset to sunrise.
